The Faculty of Arts offers a TESOL stream in the Master of Applied Linguistics coursework program, as well as TESOL concentrations in Graduate and Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates, Masters by Research and Ph.D programs. The Faculty of Education mounts an extensive program in TESOL at Masters and Doctoral level, as well as programs for students who wish to undertake initial preparation and gain accreditation as TESOL teachers. Our postgraduate program is designed for TESOL professionals, working or aspiring to work in universities, schools, English language centres and education systems, in teaching, policy-making and management roles, who wish to upgrade their knowledge and qualifications in TESOL education.

The Faculty of Education's programs are developed within a framework of the theory of education, stressing the principles of second language learning and excellent pedagogic practice, allied with sound theoretical knowledge about language.

- Faculty of Education programs are accredited as preparing teachers for teaching in Australian schools and other educational settings
